The advanced-level textbook in Al Qasimia University’s Series for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers consists of 16 units divided into two books: Advanced Level 1 and Advanced Level 2. Each book contains 8 units. After every two units, an achievement test assesses the four language skills, grammar, and spelling. Each book also ends with a final examination graded out of 100.
Each unit follows an integrated, skill-based approach, consistent with the previous levels, while giving appropriate attention to grammar and spelling. The units are designed according to a structured, progressive matrix that builds on previously studied content.
Each unit includes the following components:
Two reading texts presented in narrative form, followed by comprehension and vocabulary exercises
Two listening texts, each followed by comprehension questions
A grammar or morphology lesson, presented through examples, explanatory notes, and practice exercises
A spelling lesson, introduced through examples or explanations, followed by exercises
A writing lesson focused on advanced-level tasks, such as article writing and story writing, building on the writing skills developed at the intermediate level
