Abstract

The book “Islamic Creed” offers a scholarly and systematic study of the essential pillars of Islamic faith. It combines authenticity grounded in the Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah with contemporary relevance that enables students to address modern intellectual and social challenges. Written in clear and accessible language that considers the diversity of learners’ backgrounds, the book functions as both an academic reference and a practical educational guide, filling an important gap in the field of ‘aqīdah studies. The author examines the concept, significance, and distinctive characteristics of Islamic creed and presents the pillars of faith with supporting textual and rational evidences. He refutes misconceptions and doubts, affirming the permanence and vitality of the creed in confronting modern challenges. The discussion begins with belief in Allah Almighty, His existence and attributes, and the influence of faith in Him on individuals and societies. It proceeds to belief in the angels, their essential and moral attributes, and their relationship with humankind; belief in the revealed scriptures and the Muslim’s relationship with them; belief in the messengers, their qualities, and the miracles granted to them; and belief in the Last Day, its importance, and its stages including the barzakh, resurrection, reckoning, intercession, Paradise, and Hellfire. The final chapter discusses belief in divine decree and predestination, clarifying its levels and implications. Each chapter ends with exercises and evaluative questions that enhance understanding, encourage critical reflection, and strengthen moral and spiritual development in both the individual and the community.
